Military Mom

Cydney wrote “Military Mom” in Italy on the last trip with her son before he went to bootcamp. She knows others meant well, but it was overwhelming for her to hear “he will be better, stronger, disciplined, etc.” because in Cydney’s eyes — he already was. Cydney explains how her heart hurt when he left, because freedom is not necessarily “free.”
